Quick Summary

Look, we're not here to sell your data or spam you with junk. We collect what we need to fix your ride, keep the lights on, and maybe send you a reminder when your car's due for service. That's pretty much it. Read on if you want the full legal breakdown.

Alright, so when you bring your car in or reach out to us, we're gonna need some basic stuff:

  • Personal Details: Name, phone number, email - y'know, so we can actually get in touch when your car's ready or if we find something sketchy under the hood.
  • Vehicle Info: Make, model, VIN, year, mileage. Can't tune what we don't know about, right?
  • Service History: What we've done to your car before. Helps us track patterns and catch issues before they become expensive problems.
  • Payment Details: Credit card info gets processed through secure payment systems - we don't actually store that stuff on our end.
  • Website Activity: If you're browsing around, we might track what pages you hit, how long you're there - typical website analytics stuff.

We're not collecting anything weird or invasive. Just what we need to do the job properly and keep our business running smooth.

We're pretty straightforward with how we use your data:

  • Service Delivery: Obviously, we need it to work on your car, order parts, schedule appointments, all that.
  • Communication: Updates on your vehicle, service reminders, answering questions you've sent our way.
  • Billing & Payments: Gotta get paid somehow. Invoices, receipts, payment processing.
  • Improving Our Shop: Looking at trends to see what services are popular, what customers need, how we can do better.
  • Legal Stuff: Sometimes we're required to keep records for warranty claims, legal requirements, that kinda thing.
  • Marketing (Optional): If you're cool with it, we might send you special offers or info about new services. You can opt out anytime - no hard feelings.

Bottom line: we use your info to fix cars and run the business. Not selling it to sketchy third parties or anything like that.

Security's a big deal for us. Here's what we do to keep your info locked down:

  • Encrypted Connections: Our website uses SSL encryption - that's the little padlock you see in your browser.
  • Secure Storage: Customer data's stored on protected servers with limited access. Not just anyone in the shop can pull up your info.
  • Payment Security: We use industry-standard payment processors that are PCI compliant. Your credit card details go through them, not us.
  • Regular Updates: We keep our systems patched and up-to-date to prevent vulnerabilities.
  • Staff Training: Our team knows how to handle customer data properly and respects your privacy.

No system's 100% bulletproof, but we take reasonable precautions to keep your stuff safe. If there's ever a breach, we'll let you know ASAP.

We don't go around blasting your info to everyone, but there are a few situations where we might need to share it:

  • Parts Suppliers: Sometimes we need to give them your VIN or vehicle details to get the right parts ordered.
  • Service Partners: If we're outsourcing specialized work (like certain fabrication or machining), they'll need basic info.
  • Payment Processors: Your billing info goes through secure payment gateways to process transactions.
  • Legal Requirements: If we're legally obligated - court order, government request, that sort of thing - we'll comply.
  • Business Transfers: If we ever sell the shop or merge with another business, customer records would be part of that transfer.

We don't sell your data to marketing companies or spammers. That's not how we roll.

Yeah, we use cookies. Not the edible kind, unfortunately. Here's the breakdown:

  • Essential Cookies: These make the website actually work. Can't really turn 'em off or the site breaks.
  • Analytics Cookies: Tells us what pages people visit, how long they stay, where they click. Helps us improve the site.
  • Preference Cookies: Remembers your settings so you don't have to keep adjusting stuff every visit.
  • Marketing Cookies: If you've agreed to it, these help us show you relevant ads or content.

You can manage your cookie preferences using the sidebar (or in your browser settings if you're on mobile). Most browsers let you block cookies entirely, but some features might not work right if you do.

We also might use Google Analytics or similar tools to understand website traffic. They have their own privacy policies you can check out if you're curious.

It's your data, so you've got some control over it:

  • Access: You can ask us what info we have on you. We'll show you what's in our system.
  • Correction: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Deletion: Want us to delete your data? We can do that, though we might need to keep some stuff for legal or warranty reasons.
  • Opt-Out: Don't want marketing emails? Click unsubscribe or let us know. We won't bug you.
  • Data Portability: Need your service records in a digital format? We can export that for you.
  • Withdraw Consent: Changed your mind about something you agreed to? That's fine, just reach out.

To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at service@ignivarxenforge.info or give us a call at (604) 555-8947. We'll get back to you within a reasonable timeframe.

We don't keep your info forever - that'd be weird and unnecessary. Here's our general approach:

  • Active Customers: As long as you're bringing your car in, we'll keep your records current and accessible.
  • Inactive Customers: If we haven't seen you in a while (usually 7-10 years), we'll archive or delete your data unless there's a legal reason to keep it.
  • Service Records: We keep these for warranty purposes and to maintain a history of what's been done to your vehicle. Usually around 7 years or so.
  • Financial Records: Tax and accounting stuff needs to be kept for about 7 years per Canadian regulations.
  • Marketing Data: If you've opted out or asked to be removed, we'll delete that pretty much right away.

Basically, we keep what we need for as long as it's useful or required by law, then we get rid of it securely.

Our website might link to other sites - parts manufacturers, racing organizations, industry resources, whatever. Once you click those links, you're on their turf and their privacy policies apply.

We try to only link to reputable sites, but we can't control what they do with your data. Do yourself a favor and check out their privacy policies if you're concerned.

Same goes for social media - if you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, those platforms have their own rules about how they handle your info.

Our services aren't aimed at kids under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children, and if we find out we've accidentally got data from someone underage, we'll delete it.

If you're a parent and think your kid's info ended up in our system somehow, reach out and we'll sort it out immediately.

We might update this privacy policy from time to time - new laws, changes in how we operate, whatever. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.

If there's a major change that affects how we handle your data, we'll let you know directly via email or a notice on the website.

It's a good idea to check back here occasionally just to stay in the loop.
